rebuilding the Willow Park Road

Organized by Zimbabwebound

Wanna help build a road?
The road leading to Willow Park has become quite dilapidated over the years, and, unfortunately can make it quite difficult and dangerous to those who drive down the 5 kilometre road in anything less than a 4x4 (or a monster truck). Where there were once the smooth coverings of benchmen there are only shard remains that are highlighted by the eroding dirt.

Why do we need it fixed?

Willow Park has many different facets; all who need to use the road. Our small bakkie frequents Willow Park to collect the vegetables from the gardens for our outreaches in Bulawayo or whether it is a bakkie packed full of our young girls from Samkele (our orphanage for abused and misplaced girls) or many cars filled with vibrant young campers wanting to get away for the week or weekend; they all find it difficult for their occupants and for the underbelly of their vehicles.

Who is going to fix it?

We have had a very kind offer from a local farmer who has offered to grade the road for us at cost price and he is EXTREMELY keen to get started.

How Much?

Ah â?¦ the dreaded costing!!! To be honest it is not going to cost all that much money to get the road graded and levelled back out. The grand total will cost a measly $203.50 US.

Breakdown

$ 120.00 60 litres of diesel @ $2.00 per litre

$ 65.00 Cash requirement

$ 18.50 YFC Zimbabwe administration cost (10%)

$ 203.50 Grand Total
